Registered Apprenticeship and Craft Training courses are administered by the North Alabama Craft Training Foundation (NACTF) at several locations throughout North Alabama. Classes meet once a week for 36 weeks beginning in August. About NACTF
Mission
To promote, provide for and operate an
apprenticeship and training program, which shall be registered with and approved
by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training of the United States Department of
Labor, with a view to ensuring the existence of a quality local work force in
various crafts related to the building industry.

Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Project Supervision
Accreditation
NACTF is accredited through the
National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Apprentices’ training can be transferred to any area in which there is a NCCER-accredited program. Additionally, NACTF is certified through The Department of Labor.

NACTF's school year closely
follows the Huntsville City Schools Calendar: August - May of
each year. Each class meets a total of 36 times per year
(including registration and graduation nights). Classes are held at various locations in Huntsville, Madison and Decatur. Apprentices will be informed of their meeting time and place the
night of registration. Apprentices must obtain 8,000 on-the-job training hours
during the course of the four-year program prior to graduation. Tuition rates are announced prior to registration each year.
