Representatives from ABC met with Alabama Governor Robert Bentley as he signed into law the Fair and Open Competition in Government Contracting Act, banning government-mandated project labor agreements (PLAs) in the state. The Voice of Merit Shop

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national trade association representing 22,000 members from more than 19,000 construction and industry-related firms. Founded on the merit shop philosophy, ABC and its 70 chapters help members develop people, win work and deliver that work safely, ethically and profitably for the betterment of the communities in which ABC and its members work.

ABC is a committed group of construction professionals supporting our country, our community and our industry. We believe the Merit Shop Philosophy and the free enterprise system go hand in hand and that construction contracts should be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. We are committed to quality construction - completed on time and within budget.
